The aims and objectives of the Institute are as under:-
To create awareness in the people towards their civic reponsibilities.
To provide opportunity of training to the members of the Local Bodies with a view to equip them the essential know-how for local administrative as well as techincal effciency and policy making.
To Provide trained personnel for employment in the Local Bodies and also to organize state/nation level in-service refresher course for the employees of Local Bodies/Government Departments/Institutions.
To bring about uniformity in the working of Local Bodies functioning under the Laws of their respective States prior to the formation of Rajasthan.
To make available consultancy services to its member Municipalities in financial, legal, technical, health and administrative matters.
To serve as a liaison agency between the Municipalities, the State Government and the public.
To co-ordinate the activities to the various agencies, both Government and autonomous, connected with providing of civic amenities and planning development of the urban as well as rural areas.
To safeguard the interests of the Local Bodies and their employees
